भारत की अध्यक्षता में इंदौर में आयोजित 5वीं ब्रिक्स कृषि कार्य समूह (एडब्ल्यूजी) की बैठक का पहला दिन सफलतापूर्वक संपन्न हुआ। सदस्य देशों के प्रतिनिधिमंडलों के प्रमुखों और प्रतिभागियों का स्वागत करते हुए, कृषि एवं किसान कल्याण विभाग के सचिव ने किसान-केंद्रित और सतत कृषि विकास को आगे बढ़ाने के लिए सहयोग को मजबूत करने, नवाचार को बढ़ावा देने और जलवायु परिवर्तन के प्रति लचीलेपन को बढ़ाने के महत्व पर जोर दिया।
बैठक में सदस्य देशों के बीच खाद्य सुरक्षा, पोषण और आजीविका, कृषि व्यापार और सहयोग, तथा पुनर्योजी कृषि को बढ़ावा देने जैसी प्रमुख प्राथमिकताओं पर सार्थक और रचनात्मक विचार-विमर्श हुआ।

चर्चाओं में ब्रिक्स देशों में कृषि प्रणालियों को मजबूत करने और समावेशी, सतत विकास को बढ़ावा देने की साझा प्रतिबद्धता झलकती है।
The first day of the 5th BRICS Agriculture Working Group (AWG) Meeting was successfully convened in Indore under India’s Chairship. Welcoming the Heads of Delegation and participants from the member countries, the Secretary, Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, underscored the importance of strengthening cooperation, fostering innovation, and enhancing climate resilience to advance farmer-centric and sustainable agricultural development.
The meeting witnessed substantive and constructive deliberations among member countries on key priorities, including food security, nutrition and livelihoods, agricultural trade and cooperation, and the promotion of regenerative and climate-resilient agriculture. The discussions reflected a shared commitment to strengthening agricultural systems and fostering inclusive, sustainable growth across BRICS nations.
